Overall this is a case of you get what you pay for, but in this case I fee like you get a bit more. This isn't the sturdiest bed out there, but it's not flimsy at all. I feel like the steps and the couch attachment help the loft stay firm and provide support. If they weren't there, it would probably move a lot more and I'd be less confident.The assembly was a two person job for sure but wasn't overly complicated if you have a history of putting together furniture. If this is your first product like this, then maybe go hit up ikea for a few items to get some experience. The directions crammed a lot of steps into one graphic, but everything was there if you know how to look for it.Overall, I'm very happy with it.
