I ordered two of these for my home office. They are the perfect size, very sturdy and easy to put together! One of the desks had a broken piece, and customer service was great. I ordered a replacement part and it came very quickly. I’m super happy with this purchase! The whole far legs broke whileTrying to move it across my room but I do recommend this desk it’s cheap and easy to make a cheap vanityMy mom surprised me and bought me this desk, and I was delighted! My sister and brother spent close to 4 hours putting it together as a surprise for me, and it was amazing family time! They really bonded over putting this desk together, and they were delighted that I loved it! I came up and kept making them move it to different areas in my room (my room is very big, so it was great to have something taking up a little bit of space!) The desk is on my fuzzy carpet, and it is still very sturdy. I got the white desk, and it has a super modern look, especially with the white leather and chrome chair I got it with. It really adds so much to my room, especially because once my brother was doing handy work in my room he offered to hang cute pictures up for me, so now my room looks even cuter than it did before! The drawers slide easily, and the top drawer is a perfect place to store my laptop. The other drawer is perfect for a stack of loose leaf paper and a scissors. The cabinate has 2 shelves in it, and they are great for storing pretty much everything. I'm an organized person by nature, and this keeps all my things so neat, I love it! Also, the wood seems like it's very high quality, and it doesn't really get scratched. I think that this was a great buy, and for all those moms who are looking for something nice to buy your daughter, I'm sure she will love this! And for all those people who enjoy spending quality time with their family's should make this into a family project! Just turn up the music and get to work! Thank you for selling us such a wonderful product!!It took me a few hours to assemble. My tip to you is to put the A side on the floor and assemble starting from there if you're in a tight space. It is a nice sturdy desk. :DIt's a pretty good table, it's fairly easy to assemble. No missing parts on my case though it seems to have succumbed to a few scratches... I assume mostly due to shipping, the protection for the top and bottom side of the box is good and decent with a pretty thick amount of cardboard and foam. Though the problem is the parts aren't that held together and can graze each other on shipping. I like how the smaller parts are kept in a small box inside the packaging. Though the protection on the taller sides of the packaging seem to be pretty bad as the only thing preventing the table's parts from being damaged is one layer of cardboard. Nothing that disappointing, but what really kept me from giving this product 5 stars are the dents succumbed due to the poorly protected sides of the packaging and the broken wooden side which is meant to be part of the big drawer. I was planning on returning it as their return policy has stated though I though it would have caused too much hassle in my part so I had just wood glues the pieces together.First of all, I wasn't expecting some amazing, top of the line desk. I was looking for something very affordable and would fit in a limited space. I chose this item because it had great reviews and fit these two requirements.I did have to built this on my own and yes, two people would make some of the process go a little more easily, but this was not my issue.(1) The directions do not clearly delineate the exact screws, pegs, and other items by any sort of label on the packaging. Some things could be sorted by the quantity, but there were others that were difficult to sort out or be sure were correct. Some of the boards are labeled, but not all. Thankfully MOST of these are clear from the pictures.(2) This desk is entirely particle board and cheap black laminate. I am okay with this. I realize that if I leave a cup with condensation, the water damage would be on me. I was not expecting several nicks, dents, and areas that look like they've already been exposed to the elements. This is really frustrating. The largest front drawer, for example, looks like the entire bottom edge has water damage. One of the desk top connections was also broken away and I had to leave that corner less secure. I had no way to fix this. I'm attaching some photos of these and other issues.(3) Parts were missing. Speaking of the drawers...I did not have enough of the correct size of the "locking screw nut" item I needed to ensure all four sides of the drawer interlocked tightly. You also need these items for the desk, but those are slightly larger in size. You need 8 more of the smaller ones for the drawers, and I was only given four. I had to nail the back panel of the drawer together and use gorilla wood glue to secure the front flange to the sides. The damage to the desk did not seem to come from careless shipping. The box and packaging looked to be in good condition and showed no water damage. There is not excuse for the missing (and quite necessary) parts.I hope this desk lasts through the holidays where I will replace it with one that is better.I have never been so frustrated or disappointed in a piece of furniture that I've purchased.(I also purchased a complimentary small side cabinet/printer table. I haven't opened it because I am afraid I will have to deal with the same issues.) I am also not wasting my time or money to ship it back.Perhaps when fire season has passed, I will have a bonfire with this hunk of junk!I wanted a desk that will face the front of my office so my employee can greet clients. Unfortunately, even though this one showed that all sides of the desk were finished in the pictures, there were raw, exposed edges that would have faced the client. I'll use the desk somewhere else because I don't want the hassle of returning it, but I was very disappointed.I bought this desk to fit into a tiny work space, and bought the South Shore Axess Collection Printer Stand to give myself some more organization space. I really love this desk. It's comfortable, and the hole for the feet allows me to stretch out my legs. In the back of the desk, the particle board is a couple inches short on the compartment-side, and I recommend letting the hole be on the bottom for computer wires, if you have a PC.The varnish, like all South Shore items, is basically a sticker, so be careful about leaving mugs/cups/vases on the surface without coasters. If you catch it early, you can mop up the moisture and it will mostly return to normal, except for permanent swelling in the particle board beneath.Overall, for the price, I'm happy with this desk. It's sturdy and pretty, and I was able to assemble it in under an hour. None of the pieces were damaged or chipped during shipment; something I was expecting after reading all of the other reviews. My photo is meant to show true size of the desk.I was surprised how well the desk is made, especially at this price point. A lot of furniture manufacturers cut corners on the drawers, it's not the case here, they are solid just as the rest of the desk. Assembly instructions are easy to read and it's fairly easy to put it together. All parts are numbered, however, most of them have the part number printed on the unfinished edges and some are hard to read. Everything was included (except tools which they state in description)and they include extra screws just in case. There is one part that could be confusing when you look at it you might think that with the pre-drill holes you need to insert metal bolts but the manual shows that you don't, so follow the manual and you'll be OK.Once assembled it is very sturdy, doesn't wobble and looks beautiful! One thing I have noticed is that it may not be the perfect desk for tall people. I'm 178 and when sitting at the desk there is a quarter of an inch space between my legs and the bottom edge of the drawer. The distance from the bottom edge of the drawer to the floor is about 24 1/4 inches in case someone wants to know.Although it can be assembled by one person you might need help moving the package around your house because it is heavy. All in I'm very happy with my purchase and the quality, design and look exceeded my expectations. It’s a nice desk, but a huge pain in the a$$ to put together. Holes weren’t aligned. Instructions were very vague.. ended up putting a piece the wrong side up because instructions weren’t clear. Hinges for the doors aren’t fitting correctly because the screws seem too big. It is also all scratched, it comes with a little marker to cover stuff like that but it doesn’t even go on the same black. IKEA stuff is easier to put together.. I would have bought from there but shipping is expensive and currently in a lock down so this was my only option. Do not recommend sadly.Did not exceed expectations, but neither did it disappoint. Overall, a decent furniture piece. What sold me on this purchase was the storage space it offered compared to other similarly-sized desks. There is more than enough space for several pencil cases’ worth of office utensils as well as a dozen large binders, a stack of folders, a couple notebooks, and a packet of paper (which is what I’ve got in there now).A few of the parts had some minor scratches on them (thankfully not on the front-facing parts), and there were a few tiny chips on the edge of the desk surface, but it was nothing that the included touch-up marker couldn’t conceal. The assembly itself was easy enough—instructions are straightforward; there is more reliance on diagrams than words, which makes it super simple to follow. Even if you don’t have experience assembling furniture by yourself (which I did not), this is pretty much as easy as it gets, so if nothing else, this makes for good practice. (Coffee breaks included, it took me about 3 hours to get the thing standing)However, it did take me quite a few trips up the stairs to transport the whole thing to the second floor of my house (the package was way too heavy to lug up there by myself), so do heed the 2-person recommendation. All in all, if a newbie like me could get it to come out sturdy and functional, I’d say it’s a well-made piece. :)I bought this for my grandma because she needed a proper desk. While assembling it, I couldn't help but noticed how firm the build was at the end using the cheap material that it was.Now don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible, not until I had to screw in the cabinet door. It stripped the material but i was still able to get it on, even if it was just barely. if this hadn't of had happen, i would've given 4 stars. If you're wondering why not 5? keep in mind, it's cheaply made.
