This took some time to assemble but everything fit together really nicely... all parts were there, packed we'll, so nothing broken, holes in the right places and good heavy material, more so than I expected it would be. The hutch was a little difficult to maneuver flipping as much as the directions showed so I ended up rearranging some of the final steps so I could assemble the doors and trim AFTER it was mounted upon the desk. Other than that, everything was great!I love this desk it is well built and a beautiful color…..I would recommend but you should have 2 people to put it together.I was a little concerned based on some of the neg reviews, but this was the style and size that i wanted to gave it a try. Came in 3 boxes - one came late (not Bush's fault). One had some damaged parts because of the box weight and handling. A few parts were not labeled but could quickly figure out.The complaints about the instructions seem unfounded based on my experience (way better than average).Every page of the instructions has an 800 number to call for any questions, missing or damaged parts. I called the number a couple times and was very pleased with the service. I had to have 3 panels replaced - no questions and fast shipment. Just slows you down if you are in a hurry to finish.I do not like the back panel of the hutch and found it difficult to install anyway (since it needs to go against the wall and attached in the rear bottom piece). Instead, I purchased a couple small L brackets and extra screws from local hardware store to mount the hutch to the desktop surface and leave an open back. I also mounted the hutch on the right side rather than the left which was better for my configuration and was no problem. I believe some comments I read that it was flimsy or needed to drill new holes were more likely due to installation errors and not following instructions. Finally, it wasn't obvious from the listing but this was a direct purchase from Bush on Amazon - no middle man to deal with.It met all of my expectations. A little expensive but i cant complaint knowing this desk will last me a long time. Easily assembled, took about 2.5 hours. It is very well made. I really hope this last me a long time. Delivery was on point too!Issues with putting the desk together, not everything lined up correctly. File drawer doesn't line up with the drawer above. Overall very please with the desk but flaws in the preset assembly. Our delivery company messed up and left one of the packages out in the rain and then just wrapped some cardboard around the box & delivered it anyway... two weeks later than the other boxes. By the time it got to us, the cardboard was moldy and gross and completely destroyed, but the desk inside was fine! These are packed really well, so even if your delivery guys are rough on them, they come through OK. We did end up with one long piece that was cracked in half - clearly by the delivery company - but all I had to do was send an email and pictures of the box to the manufacturer and they sent a replacement right away. They didn't give me any hassle at all. We didn't have to try to repack the thing & return it. They just sent us a replacement part for the broken piece & that was it.Assembly is easy if you follow the directions. It's sturdy enough for a home office and seems well designed. We needed a large, functional desk to work from home during COVID, but we don't have an office. We had to put it in our living room, which is not ideal, but it's nicer to look at than a lot of office-style desks, so it's OK to have around day in & day out. The doors on the hutch are nice, so you can keep things looking tidy.Overall, highly recommended.I ordered this because I felt that Bush was a good manufacturer based on reviews, and the commercial grade would work well in my home office to last a long time. I now wish that I had just purchased the cheaper Office Depot option of "build your own desk". I do not think the quality of this is better than desks that cost half this much. It definitely off-gases (glue?) and smells when you first take it from the box. This was not a big deal, as the smell went away. The large desk piece was damaged in shipping, and I had to wait for new replacement. This is not entirely Bush's fault (maybe they could have packed it better) but still a pain. There were other scuffs and scratches, but I put it together anyway. Also, some of the edges look white like it's an older desk that the black has worn off on, but also not a dealbreaker. The instructions also leave some important things out - you should lift one desk slider up and push the other down to separate the pieces for installation.Overall, I would recommend spending more for quality furniture or spending less for the make yourself option.I didnt like that the glass was broken and that there were chips in the wood. The chips werent noticed until the desk was put together. So it was just to hard to disassemble to send a peice back.
