The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Make no mistake, if you're not one to typically put together stuff then be prepared to spend 1 to 2 hours putting the jigsaw puzzle together properly and accurately. Pay attention to the details. An error on my part had the final piece being installed backwards and as a result the screw holes on the foot rest are visible from the front of the unit. But as I stated earlier, this was my error in rushing towards the end to complete the build. The table top veneer finish is really exquisite and elegant. after setting up and using some furniture polish to clean up. I liked the wood grains that were visible under direct light. its dark enough not to be seen if used in the dark but in a well lit area it looks like a desk that costs a lot more. I did cut an inch and a half off of the back of the top to accommodate where I wanted to install it if anyone sees the reflection of the back end of the desktop in the picture. Originally the back looked exactly like the front of the desk.Pro tip - For wood based furniture that's being put together and dowels ( Those little wood pins to help hold pieces together ) are used. I put a little wood glue in these holes to solidify the furniture once put together. The glue once set, will ensure that the piece doesn't get loose or shaky over time and is especially useful when you love a piece and want it to last forever.
