This yellow barrel highlighter lasts just as long as the other same size highlighters (as I used to highlight the same docs over and over using different brand yellow highlighters). The yellow is very bright - just as it should be. Like all bright yellow highlighters, it does not show on the copy of the original highlighted document, which is great. I cannot say if this highlighter's yellow starts fading away in time, since I haven't checked a year old highlighted document.If you are looking for a highlighter that definitely will not fade away after some years, I suggest using darker colors, such as the pink Universal highlighter (which is my personal favorite because it's very neon-pink and not dark like some other brand pink highlighters). Blue and Orange are also good / not dark.I have used other pink or green highlighter brands in the past (like Accent), and these faded away almost completely after some years. Now, the highlighted spots look like dirt on the page. Unlike those, Universal highlighters seem to keep the color on the page (no fading).Great product.best Highlighters around, all should order this.
