Plastic is made from petroleum. heat and long trem pressure might casue slightly oil decomposing. if the product is used on a original wood table, please use an extra table cloth under the pad to prevent the oil infiltrating into the wood. to avoid these situations, choose a frosted tabletop pad or floral pad to make your furniture look better. Brought this for the top of my daughter's new vanity table in March 2020. Was easy to cut and place. I wasn't sure how much to cut because the description says to allow for shrinkage, but it's worked out perfect for our use. No issues with the vinyl sticking to the tabletop at all - writing review in May 2020, so in place for 2 months. Easy to clean. Daughter paints nails and does some makeup at this table, spills have cleaned up easily. Daisy top is very pretty.
