This lamp is perfect for the use I purchased it for. I had some trepidation as to spending these mush money for a small reading lamp but I can assure you, as far as I am concerned, I am getting more than my monies worth.This is a simple lamp with a very bright light...but not too bright, which is an ideal reading lamp beside my bed. I read late into the night whereas my wife does not. She is a pretty sensitive sleeper and light does bother her. I can bring this gooseneck right down on the book without disturbing her. The light is far more than adequate for reading.The lame is attractive and very simple. It has an off and on toggle switch which is easy to locate in the dark. The base is heavy so I have little fear of knocking the thing over although when the gooseneck is extended fully in a horizontal position it does get a bit wobbly. This is of little moment as far as I am concerned though as I have little reason to use this thing in a horizontal position - the lamp, not me.Now this is one of those lights where you cannot change the bulb (it that is what you want to call it) and when it goes, the lamp goes. They say with normal use this lamp will last for years and years and at my age it is quite likely that it will out last me and as I do not intend to be buried with it, I am not too worried about it.I am very please with this lamp and very pleased with the purchasing process.Don BlankenshipThe Ozarks
