This was so easy to put together by myself. The instructions were clear. It comes with 5 bolts and washers but the instructions only show 4 to use, which was accurate, as there were only 4 holes drilled in the bottom of the chair. The small spring washer goes on the bolt first, then the flat one, for those not mechanically included (like me). I had to push a little harder than I thought to get the casters secure in the base. There is a note (front) on the lift piece as to which direction it goes on the bottom of the chair. The gaslift just automatically locked in place, when you put it in the base. It was just me putting this together (over 60 :-)), and I did not need a 2nd person. Since I am using this as a home office chair, I will be using a small pillow for the small of the back. Wow - I am so impressed!
