I purchased this to use as a gaming desk for use with my new desktop PC. Mainly to play flight simulators. I needed something that was adjustable to get the right height to access the flight yoke and rudder pedals, has a decent amount of space to hold two monitors and still have room for the yoke, throttle assembly, keyboard, mouse and reference documentation and also easy to roll out of the way when not in use. This desk is just about perfect in all aspects, without spending a huge amount of money on a desk specifically designed for flight simulators - which are crazy expensive. It took me about 15 minutes to assemble. There is not much too it and the provided instructions, which are barely needed, are clear and easy to understand. The supplied bolts all use the same provided allen wrench and are easy to tell which ones go where and tightened up with no stripping. All of the pre-drilled holes lined up perfectly making the assembly process go smoothly. The frame is made of good high quality steel providing for a very sturdy no wobble desk that rolls very easily even with all of the equipment setup - which you can see in the pics. The desk top material is very solid and thick and includes a brace underneath for extra support while not interfering with the yoke mounting system. However, if you are planning to add shelves underneath this desk you would not be able to do that due to the brace getting in the way. I did not use the shelf that came with the unit, but might end up using it once I get a new gaming chair and know exactly what height I will need to set the desk.Right now I have a 32 inch and 22 inch monitor on the desk. I will likely end up with a 40 monitor in which case I would probably install the shelf to hold it and still have room for a 22 inch monitor to setup for flight controls, maps, GPS, etc.I found this desk on another site for about $250 and was on the fence until I checked Amazon and found it for $60 less. Done !! The only negative, which is not a manufacturer issue, is the PC shelf might get in the way of the rudder assembly once I get a chair and get the right setup for the yoke. In that case I would need to remove the shelf, but since it has a brace in the back I don't think it will compromise the overall rigidity of the desk. For most applications this would not be necessary. One other thing is the manufacturer could have included some sort of strap to secure the computer to the shelf. Not a huge deal, but something I would recommend doing if you plan to move the desk around a lot. The shelf is wide enough for my case to sit without hanging off, but I still plan to add a bungee cord or some sort of strap to make sure it does not fall off when I move the desk. Can't risk that $2000 investment. Also, like others mentioned, the desk is really not designed to regularly change the height like a Sit-and-Stand desk, but that said, it is not a difficult process, just a bit of a pain. I would recommend a desk with an assisted hydraulics system if you want to be able to go from sitting to standing position easily. In the end I am very pleased with the quality of this desk. The fit and finish are top notch at this price point for sure. I have spent more and gotten a lot less. I would definitely recommend it for the purpose I am using it for, but also as a temporary work desk that needs to be moved around now and then - would be perfect for a child's room.If you are setting up a home office and need a desk for permanent use, I would probably recommend something a little larger with drawers and such and no wheels.Plenty of space for a laptop, and ipad, and a mouse. The shelf at the back holds my monitor perfectly and the wheels roll very smoothly across hardwood floors. This is exactly what I needed. Getting rid of the packaging actually took longer than putting it together. It came with all the tools you need to assemble it too, which is great. The good: It's a really great size - not too big and not too little, and it's not too ugly. I did not use the extra shelf in the back and I don't know what it is for, but the desk looks fine without it - there are no holes in the desktop. It's mostly sturdy, although they could improve on this. The bad: Look, I'm good at putting things together. I have a bleep TON of experience. I'm telling you there is no way those screws are going into the bottom black shelf without drilling new holes in the metal. The little black screw cover stickers are a complete joke as those screws are NOT going in!! Anyway, the rest of the thing was easy to put together.Helpful hint: On each step, don't tighten screws until you have all of them in.I purchased this desk during the lighting deal, since my company has moved to a work from home structure. What I really wanted was an electric version, but for the price and based on the reviews, I settled on this. The cons:It took over a week to arrive, which is my error, because I didn't pay attention to the estimated delivery time frame. It's not easy to raise and lower once it's set up. With that said, know what height you want it at, and make sure you're happy. This applies whether you have things on it or not. Once its standing upright, it takes two people to adjust.Pros:Minus the adjustment dilemma noted above, it was rather easy to put together. I did it by myself in a matter of 30mins (if that). There are directions to guide you. You don't need external tools, as it comes with everything you need. *I used my own tools though. Just as an FYI, it is heavy though. Do not lift the box by yourself. Be careful when unpacking the items as well.I've had mine up for about two weeks now, and it's pretty sturdy. I like the back tray that you can sit your computer tower on, as I think it aids in supporting the desk. I think this is common sense, but I wouldn't recommend laying or sitting on it. I haven't tested it's full weight capacity because I don't want to break it.The desk is spacious, especially if you don't have a monitor on it. The bottom adds a lot of open space as well, so it doesn't look crowded or bulky. The laminated desk top gives it a finished look, and matches just about any room.I'm about 5'5, and it comes up to about 3/4 of my body at it's full height. It's great to stand at and to sit at.Overall, although it wasn't the desk I was going for, I think it was a good buy for the money. Truth be told only time will tell, but for now I would recommend. This desk is really sturdy and was easy to put together. Instructions were easy to follow and I build it by myself. This is a lot cheaper than other sit/stand desks I found online.Just a note if you want to buy this. To adjust the height you need to take everything off and lay the desk down.
