Press and hold the "Up" and "Down" button simultaneously for 5 seconds. The desk will automatically move down to the lowest point and stop, indicating a successful reset. How to reset the settings when the motor stops working? Press and hold the "Up" or "Down" button to adjust to the desired height, then press and hold the "1" or "2" key for 3 seconds to store the current height to the corresponding memory position. How to preset the memory height? I was a bit worried putting my order in for this with some of the reviews I read, but my experience has been amazing so far. I've been using it for about 20 days and have not had any issues with the motor, so I would chalk it up to manufacturing or user error. I also did not find the visual instructions difficult to follow at all, and they are in fact very detailed. I put the desk together myself in around an hour or so.I have worked from home for several years and I don't know why I put off getting a standing desk for so long. I've dealt with hip and back issues, and overall low moods, all of which led to a less-than-sedentary life style from fatigue-- all before the age of 30.Having the option to stand while working gives you more freedom of movement. Swaying, shifting weight, or even just stepping in place while all small movements, have increased my mental wellbeing throughout the work week. I also combined this purchase with a basic stepper machine, and the two things together have changed working from home for me for the better. I'm sad I spent so long not doing this for myself.The desk is aesthetically pretty, and the model I choose comfortably fits 2 monitors and a laptop. Yes the desk surface is "cheap", it's not real solid wood and I would not expect it to be for the price point. I chose this standing desk for the pricing. Compared to other desks on the market, I think it's definitely worth it.If there's anything that will fail, it would be the little motor that comes with the desk. Mine is working well so far, but it is a part I imagine would be easy to replace if there's a failure in the future.
